Colossians 3:23-24

Our Story

Greg Brown began his construction career in 1989. As a senior in high school, he joined a drywall crew. He enjoyed working hard and the feeling of accomplishment. Following graduation, he continued to work in construction for a couple of years. In 1992, Greg took a position in a warehouse dealing specifically with large fasteners and exotic metals and eventually became manager of the warehouse.

In 1994, Greg really started to get an itch to get back into construction. He spent the next 23+ years working for a general contractor out of Fredericksburg, Ohio, where he was able to learn all aspects of construction projects. The predominantly Amish crew of 40 – 50 men taught Greg about their way of life and language, their attention to detail, and their no fuss way of getting things done. Projects included private homes, churches, nursing care facilities, hotels, event centers, restaurants and factories. This experience instilled in Greg a strong work ethic: If it isn’t right, fix it. Make sure your finished product represents your company well.

In 2017, with a desire to eventually move away from the physical demands of construction, Greg stepped away from the large crew and started a business doing smaller projects that he could do on his own. His projects began to increase in size, and it became necessary to hire employees.

As of 2025, Brown Construction & Contracting (formerly Brown Renovations) is in its 8th year. God has blessed Greg’s vision, and he is now a general contractor. He strives to lead his projects with the same integrity and work ethic he learned from his former employers. He’s learned that the best marketing tool is a job that is well done. Greg believes that if you seek to honor God in all you do, you will be blessed in a way that only a Creator willing to sacrifice for His creation can.
